Eucalyptus cinerea. This tender perennial shrub is grown for its firm round leaves that grow along the length of pliable, somewhat pendant branches. The leaves are smooth and silvery blue-green in colour, and provide amazing contrast of both shape and colour in flower arrangements. The leaves famously earned this eucalyptus the common name Silver Dollar Tree. It can be grown indoors as a houseplant, or in the garden as an eye-catching specimen that will be ready to harvest 120 to 150 days from planting. If protected over winter (and this would be in mild gardens or greenhouses), it will potentially grow to the size of a tree at 7m (22′) tall. Give Eucalyptus seeds a head start indoors 10 to 12 weeks before the last frost.
